August 2009 - Project of the Month

Binding drawers, loose joints, missing and peeling veneer, and a worn or missing finish are not reasons to dispose of a piece of furniture you love.

This piece was stripped of what little finish remained.
The entire case was injected with two part epoxy at the joints.  While the epoxy dried, clamps insured the case was square and tight.

We were then able to refit the drawers for proper operation. The small side boxes required removal for  repair. Loose or missing veneer was repaired.

Finally, the piece was hand sanded, sealed and finished with 3 coats of lacquer in a satin sheen.

With the marble tops, mirror and all hardware back in place the original beauty of the piece is again evident.
