Pick-up and Delivery
We offer door-to-door pick-up and delivery service for our customers. Cost is based upon the item being delivered and total travel distance. Local service is usually no charge, while a pick-up and delivery to Chicago typically runs $300. When possible, we try to schedule several stops in the same area to keep costs down. For a more precise quote, please contact us.
Fabrics
Our fabric selection is greater than many upholstery shops and unequalled at the retail level. Most of our fabrics come from the Designer Showrooms in the Merchandise Mart in Chicago. We'll assist with your selection if you like, and you are encouraged to take samples home. |
We Take the Time to Listen
Our customers are our first priority. We take the time to listen to the customer's needs, trying to identify ways to meet their ultimate objectives. Customers have told us that other shops shy away from their projects - but not us! Each of our projects are handled with care and craftsmanship - down to the last drop of glue or the last stitch of thread. Not all projects are easy - but we excel in challenging projects.
Some project challenges we have met that other shops have refused include:
 |
 |
 |
| Repaired wicker and rattan furniture |
Repaired a 19-foot diameter umbrella frame |
Designed (from a photo), and fully upholstered, a king size sleigh bed |
 |
 |
 |
| Repaired a 36-inch high elephant left out in the rain |
Converted a 1930's walnut dining room table with three leaves to accept 10 leaves |
Converted a chaise lounge with a traditional open foot end to a closed curved end |
Additional project challenges we have faced over the years:
- Repaired a 2-inch x 6-inch candle burn on an oriental style console
- Designed and finished bed rails to match an old painted finish
- Converted an oak double dresser to accept a bathroom sink top
- Designed (from a photo) a cylinder shaped desk lid from walnut to replace the original which was lost
- On four different occasions, disassembled sofas for removal from residences and reassembled them in new home
- Added length to table legs in order to meet customer's needs
- Raised seat height of sofas and chairs without changing the style, allowing for optimum customer comfort
- Converted a king size fully-upholstered bed from a conventional box spring and mattress to a water bed
- Via trial and error, modified the padding in chairs to the unique comfort level of customers with unique needs
- Converted a curved headboard with mirrors to a partial mirror with a tufted center section, and added a glass display area on top
Design it Yourself
Perhaps you aren't a Designer, but you have an idea of what you like. For example, if your idea is in a magazine, bring the picture to us and we'll let you know what we can do for you. Mix finishes and fabrics with different styles; you will have a totally new look. |
